In India Family Law are classified based upon different religions like Hindu, Christians, Muslims etc., Matrimonial disputes arising between the parties to a particular religion has to be conducted with their respective law. Some of these laws are The Hindu Marriage Act, Indian Divorce Act, Special Marriage Act etc., Being a Country that promotes Unity in Diversity the family laws in India respects the tradition and cultural background of every religion and was enacted accordingly.

There are new additional Courts that are formed in the Family Courts at Madras (Chennai) for speedy trial of the cases that are being filed before them.
